Democratic Education
What exactly is Democratic Education and how does it relate to sustainability? How does local community action create a ripple effect strong enough to lead to changes in the way we view critical pedagogy through a social justice lens? You will ultimately be prepared to understand how various educational practices can inspire students to make changes to build a more equitable society.
Intercultural
competence
Have you ever wondered how your life experiences have influenced how you relate to yourself, others...the world? What about how deeply your cultural identity determines nearly every aspect of your life, no matter how objective you may feel? This course will prepare you to lead a more culturally competent existence that is more mindful of various levels of power and privilege that exist in our world.

Restoration. Sustainability. Health. Around the globe, we are becoming more environmentally conscious, moving past reusable water bottles and backyard gardens to asking the big questions about the health of our collective home. This course will help you understand the role of sociopolitical institutions in the ongoing battle to create a more eco-friendly world.
Apprenticeship
They say you don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone, and that applies to the natural world as well. Often, those in charge want to throw money at our globe’s environmental problems without going to the heart of the problem, which is ironic, considering heart is actually the missing piece. This course will deepen your cultural awareness and help you develop an appreciation for human connection and community service.
