Internship Opportunities

Long Way Home’s Internship Program is for eager individuals who want to dedicate themselves to Comalapa by really digging into green-construction and building upon a skill set relevant to a small non-profit doing many big things! Designed to give an immersive experience into the non-profit and/or green building world, we offer remote and on-site opportunities.

HOW TO APPLY?

Read the application requirements in the description linked to each position. Unless specified otherwise, please send these documents to outreachcoordinator@lwhome.org

The program offers participants a unique hands-on learning opportunity to develop both professional and personal skills, while helping to grow Long Way Home as an organization.

With this program, our organization aims to:

  • Encourage individuals to take a more purposeful approach to sustainability and the environment.

  • Create a work and residential environment that encourages critical analysis and practical skills through experiential learning.

  • Inspire a group of individuals who are passionate about green-design and grassroots initiatives to use that passion in their own lives to create a better world.

  • Help sustainably-minded individuals develop professional skills related to NGO-management and green construction.

Remote Interns

For remote interns, the ability to work wherever you are located is now an opportunity.

If gaining work experience outside your home country is your goal, a remote internship with LWH is for you!

Why do a remote internship?

Our Interns gain remote work skills, receive project based assignments, have a flexible working schedule, work one on one with a direct supervisor, and play an important role in the contribution of Long Way HomeΒ΄s mission.

Our internships offer:

  • flexibility

  • work experience in a grassroots org.

  • Opportunity for growth and learning

  • Welcoming and open work environment

On Site Interns

The on-site interns will be situated on our campus in San Juan Comalapa, a rural town in Guatemala’s Highlands where interns live and work alongside international volunteers and staff, as well as our experienced local team.
