TERRACE Tire Retaining Wall

The retaining wall is made of packed tires stacked in a running-bond pattern to maximize interlocking between courses. Tires are filled with the earth taken out during the excavation stage, and non-biodegradable waste. There is a batter of 2” between each course of tires and the wall has a total height of 5’. The wall is relatively small and therefore no drainage system is required.
